| Answer: Years ago it was practicable but today's drives it wouldn't be recommended...you just don't have the necessary equipment or discernment to do it. You just cant plop out a disc and plop in another one!! Business often send there drives to places that do, do what you are saying to recover data but its VERY precious! there are recovery programs out there that seem to do a decent job...ya just have to look for them. That's why I always tell my clients...Backup often! |

How To Recover Old Data After Reinstalling Windows XP? |
Question by emily.anne3 | Posted in Desktops
i reinstalled windows, is my advice lost? from my old user acct., how can i have my old informatio brought into my new user? it asn't been delted off of my hardrive i jsut don't separate how to access it again.
| Answer: If you performed a green install, all of the hard disk drive data is gone. This is called a re-format, which deletes all files that were in days of yore stored on your PC's hard drive. You will need to re-nsatll all of the programs that were on your PC including Windows Updates and Anti-Virus software along with JAVA for playing games. So repentant you had to do this. I have had to do this several times myself. If you need to re-format again, back up your data files IE: Music, Videos, and Pictures |
