I have most of the software for recovering data, but nothing to assist me if the hard drive fails mechanically.

Answer: Yes, there is a system that they use to recover some stuff. Also they have to try and clean the drive so they don't get any failures as well. If you want to try and recovery this at home you will have to pay a good sum of in money for the programs.

Recover Data From Crashed Internal Hard Drive?

My laptop, Dell Inspiron E1505, level off my bed and hasn't worked since. I ran the DST and it gave me the error code 2000-0146. I was told that the customs meant my hard drive was done.

If this is the case is it possible to recover data off of that hard drive?

If that code means something different then what I was originally told that would be pleasingly to know also.

Answer: You could recover it using an extraneous case.

Go buy a SpeedMetal external HD case from a computer store, and make sure it will fondle your laptop HD (SATA or ATAPI).

Then, it's a simple matter of removing the old drive, plugging it into the exterior case, and using the Flash port to shift everything to a different computer.

How Can I Recover Data From A Crashed Hard Drive?

Ran the evaluate for windows, and im getting the message "no bootable drive found". All my data is still on the computer - i have loads of homework and music on that item and i really dont want to lose it. I am on a laptop btw too.

I have at my disposal: Another computer (desktop with windows as well) and an extraneous hard drive (250GB)

Is there some way i can get my data back (for free, haha)??

Thanks so much!!

Answer: Unless you can suffer vertigo it up and mount it as an accessible file system, you are looking at a costly data recovery effort.

Does the disk motto show up at all in the BIOS or POST messages? If you can see the device, maybe just the MBR (master boot notation) is corrupted (which means you could potentially recover this).

Recover Data From Crashed Hard Drive?

My hard drive crashed(at the unalterable point of the crash my computer didn't even recognize the hard drive) and I got a new one and it works great. Is there any threat to my computer(new hard drive etc..) if I try and institute the old/bad hard drive as a slave and get info that way?

If there is no threat to my computer, what exactly would I do to get the data?

Answer: Sounds liked the folding was mechanical (stepper motor, arm, or read.write head. So NOT endanger your new computer if you move it over as a slavey.

Usually, if the PC does not even see that the drive exist, there is no way to recover data without having the motor of the hard drive rebuild. Since that has to be done by a professional in a disinfected room, the cost to have it done runs between $2000 and $2500

Something you can try, if your new PC still does not recognize
