computer not showing any drive when i connected my hard drive to pc.

what should i need to do.....

How Can I Recover Data From A Hard Disk That Is Formatted In Win3.1 Or Win95 On An XP Comp Via Usb Enclosure?

I have an old hard disk that is either win3.1 or win 95. I have united it to a usb hard drive enclosure to a win-xp machine. XP will recognise the enclosure and disk but the hard drive will not appear on the "my computer" panel. I would like to imitation this very ancient data.

Answer: hmm, I have done this before so am exasperating to recall how. It shows a letter E or F so it recognizes the port but doesn't know what it is. If its 3.1 I don't entertain the idea XP will read it. But you are not at that point yet.

I think what I did in this case was to reload Win98 as a second OS. Then reboot, opt 98, then you have to go through search for hardware, and get the drivers for the USB hub, because I don't think Win98 SE had them.

Is it admissible to do it at home instead of taking it to an apple store to take out the hard drive?

Answer: well, you can shift the hard disk, install it in enclose it in an external HD case & plug it in another mac. or, as long as your mac can start even if it does'nt boot, you can run puppy linux. boot puppy linux from cd or showy disk & you can recover all your files & save them on an external thumb drive.

Recover Data From Hard Disk?

Hi ,

i use an extraneous western digital hard disk and by misktake i spilled some water on it . This hard disk works like a USB cognizance when i attach it to my laptop . Now my windows is failing to recognize it . Is there any way i can make it work again and recover my data ? i fancy some water has gone into it and it cant be opened as there are no screws on top . Its
just like a big USB device .Do you have knowledge of of any free software that can be of help ?

Answer: if its enclosed in a usb covering, I would say the drive is probally good, the connector card is probally what fried. that would be the easiest attainable point for water to reach first.
Take the drive out of the usb and install it in the computer to see it works that way.

Can Anyone Explain Me How To Recover Some Data Which I Deleted From From The Hard Disk.?

The data has been deleted from the recycle bin too.

I'll be more thankful if some can explain me the logic/theory part behind the data recovering techniques from a crashed hard disk.

Answer: One of my friends recently had to recover some files on a USB sprint drive as well and he finally settled on a software called Data Recovery Pro and it worked like a enthrall for him.

Basically, like Bob said when you deleted a file by emptying the recycle bin it doesn't in reality get physically erased from the hard drive right away, but instead Windows marks it as superior to be overwritten so the file will remain there until such time it is overwritten - which is a crap shoot at
