How To Reinstall Windows XP From Recovery Disc In A Sony Vaio Laptop?

The Sony Vaio recovery disc contains all Sony software + Windows XP placement files. Sony Web pages never show any support for this problem. Is there any way to reinstall a corrupt Windows XP, without installing the time off of other softwares?

Answer: If your mimic of Windows XP is corrupt this probably means that your hard drive is failing. So back up your data first (also in suit the recovery process wipes it). If you don't like the Sony software you can uninstall it.

I tried system bring back but it will only take me back to the point I deleted the Wireless USB adapter file. After I do the restore to that point, the systems boots but will sink to reboot the next time I try to use it. The computer (Dell GX240 Desktop) came refurbished from a reseller who claims not to have the recovery disc. It bears Microsoft Stickers for 2000 Pro and XP Pro Refurbished. What do you mention?

You will need to step back here a little bit.. Sorry...With out the original Windows that is registered there is no way to get any upgrades or protection patches that are critical and that leaves you vulnerable. However, if you have the ability in the past to get the upgrades and insurance patches then you have a registration copy and you should be ok.

Computer says missing hal.dll file. Microsoft says in Windows xp recovery assuage, when I type in expand d:\i386\hal.dl_c:\windows\system32, i get access denied. Do I type it unequivocally like that or do I replace the _ with a space? Why do I get access denied?

I am missing a windows 32 file, so recovery won't achieve. I need to reinstall windows because my computer continues to restart because of system failure even after i turn off automatic restart. What do I do?

Answer: Assuming that you had the Windows Serial yourself. Try to draw someone else's Windows Installation disk.

Start your computer with the disk, and follow the steps for "Form YOUR WINDOWS INSTALLATION"

Windows Xp Recovery Help!?

My window won't start recently and when i rotation it on is says:
"Window could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM\"
it says that i can put the file through windows recovery console and i tried doing that but i have no idea of what to enter for the the command. So if anyone knows the authority or a way i can fix this i would be really thankfull.

Answer: Losing that directory is almost guaranteed to be lacking a reinstall of Windows. It's the Windows equivalent of removing someone's brain.

I hope you didn't delete it while following some horribly malicious admonition.

My best advice is to try to reinstall (reformat) from the Recovery partition or CDs. Try for a non-destructive reinstall if one is offered. You then have at least a bet of saving your files (you may still have a problem getting to them on the disk, but
