Would VirtualLab Data Recovery 5.5.17 Be Able To Recover My Files After Re-installing Windows Vista?

How can I resurrect my Windows Vista System after a failed SP2 upgrade?
The system stopped @ 48% complete and did not pick up where one left off after 8 hrs. It said not to power down the computer, but obviously i had no choice once the upgrade failed. This destroyed the config.sys file and the instructions were to run a restore/restore with the system disk. This did not work [of course] and I cannot get to another copy of the config.sys file

Free Program To Recover Files From A Dead Hard Drive?

I have a impenetrable drive that has a bunch of files on it. The drive got corrupted and needs to be reformatted in engage for it to be usuable again. I used VirtualLab Data Recovery software and it found the files. The only problem is that it wants me to pay them $40 to get the info off the disk. I dont have that. Anyone identify a free program that will let me get the data off of the hdd?

Please report me how to do this; Misplaced my recovery cd for my laptop, i downloaded VirtualLab Data Recovery Software so i can do a recovery, this is what i need to know, i downloaded and has saved it to my desktop on This computer which is ok, i have not yet clicked the Unqualified, what i need to know is how do i go about sending this to a cd so i can run it on my laptop that needs the recovery,do i click open and then from there what do i do in disorganized to burn VirtualLab Data Recovery Software

How Can I Permanently Delete Already Recycled Files?

Please Helper me I have yet to figure out what shredding, nuking, erasing, program (even when using guttmann or DoD algorithms) that can continuously keep other recovery programs from finding the deleted files on a HD NTFS or FAT partition. As far as i know VirtualLab-data-recovery, has been on of the game with file deleting programs, by finding them and I don't know what I'm doing asperse or if this program is just that good? lol IIRC i might even seen VirtualLab being used on one of the CSI shows.
