Using External HDD For Primary Notebook Driver?

Ok...

So I thirst to be able to have a seperate hard drive that I can use to boot up my computer when I am using it to scan others unsparing-drives or doing other duties like data recovery.

I would just get an IDE to USB cable but I dont make up It will let me boot up my notebook because when I connect using that it comes up as a removable media storage device.

So I covet to be able to buy a HD that is used for a desktop and use some type of converter

Answer: if you actually want to go with the external hard drive route, just get a "outside hard drive enclosure" which you can plug any standard 3.5" desktop computer's dynamically drive into, then plug that into your computer with the usb cable provided - it'll turn up in my computer as a removable media disk?

i don't entirely twig what you're trying to do or why, but using the above method you can make use of a desktop hard drive as an superficial hard drive on a laptop.

USB Pen Drive- No Media - Inaccessible On Windows?

I have a Kingston 4GB USB pen press. It has been working flawlessly for years. However, once, the flash drive was taken out of the usb slot while some files were being copied, and a windows delayed forgive filed error occurred. Now when i plug the flash drive into any computer, the removable disk icon shows up in 'my computer' but when i try to access it, it says please advertisement a disk into this drive. I tried researching for a solution and have tried to change the move letter. but it didn't

Answer: Linux can scent and repair windows damaged USB Pen Drive. Get a free live CD from www.ubuntu.com or adopt one from friends. This is a live CD meaning you can operate this OS without installing it to the hard drive. The OS will find the thumb drive and do format it.
