How To Recover A Lost Partition Without A Second Working Drive? |
Question by skatc | Posted in Other - Computers
I've got a laptop with one incarnate drive that used to have a single Windows NTFS partition. I was trying to create a next partition but it crashed in the process and destroyed my sole Windows partition instead. No recovery disk (hangs talent in shame).
PC Inspector looks like a good recovery tool, *if* I had a secondly harddrive with Windows on it. Are there any tools that I could run from a bootable CD instead?
Or, could I remove my laptop's harddrive and add it
| Answer: Another feasibility is to get a laptop hard drive to IDE hard drive adaptor, (10 bucks) and tie in the laptop drive to a desktop system and perform all the necessary recover attempts within the desktop. If your friends laptop has provisions for a alternative hard disk, then you could certainly go that route. |
