Mac OS X Recovery Disk Download.?

I recently was capable to retrieve my Mac from my ex boyfriend... After turning it on I noticed his technology challenged self downloaded a whole sort of useless files, music, and deleted some factory setting off of it.
I called Apple and they told me I could take a turn for the better the computer by putting in the Recovery CD it came with, problem is I've had this computer for about 3 years and have no idea where that disk is and if it even exists anymore... The costumer usage rep told

- Barely buy Snow Leopard upgrade and upgrade to Snow Leopard. Price is only $ 29.00

Check on the Internet first (just google it) if you can upgrade from your interpretation but I think you can.
- Recovery discs are machine/model specific but Apple DOES NOT USE any system haven. so
lot of people just find someone with SAME Mac model and use their recovery disk

On A Mac OS X Can You Replace Terminal.app With Iterm?

My sister accidentally deleted PC = 'personal computer'.app somehow and I've tried everything to retrieve it. I used data and file recovery programs and everything and I tried everything. I discovered an another to terminal.app, iterm, and I was wondering if you can use that or is it necessary to have the original command prompt on your computer.

Answer: You can use iTerm. But there's no way to "accidentally" erase Terminal; unless the accident is someone deleting things just because they don't know what it's for, which container those people should not be operating a computer.

Formatted My Mac Pro HDD, How Do I Install Mac Os X On It?

I got a .dmg file of snow leopard.
if i fritter away this file into a dvd,
will it auto-boot on a formatted HDD?

The hdd has been formatted with windows xp. from dos.

or must i get a recovery disc of sort? or does all mac os x discs auto-boot from x out?

do i keep pressing 'c' button on the keyboard? will it work then?

Answer: Did you not use or show in instructions or documentation on how to do this? Before you wiped the hard disk clean?
