External Harddrive DATA RECOVERY Help Please?

my hdd went into RAW and with ParitionMagic i got it to go back to fat32 (which i recall is inferior to NTFS, but this is the way i originally got the drive). but my files disappeared and when i look at how much spaciousness is used it says 100% free. however, if i use GetDataBack or whatever, i can see the files perfectly and none are warp. how do i make the files view like it would had the drive not been reformatted? i don't have anywhere to copy the files elsewhere and on fire so many cds is too

Why When I Scan A A Certain External Harddrive To Recover Data From It Does A Repeat Scan Finally Work?

Why would rescanning the operate again make the files recover right? I'm using file scavenger and even though it can see all the files on the induce I have to rescan sometimes to recover the files. What's going on with the drive or is it file scavenger? Anyone veteran this phenomenon?

Data Recovery On A Seagate 500gb Ext. Harddrive?

uncorrupted crap, i am so angry, my 500gb seagate was running fine, then it started humming very loudly, made a overwhelmingly clunk, and does not work. seagate wants 1,400$ (!!!) to recover my 120GB of irreparable data. is there a cheaper data recovery service anyone knows of? Or is there anyway to make a broken (it rattles loudly if you waver it, its fried.) hard drive usable to recover data?
