How Does A Hard Drive Crash? |
Question by ♦!Jennie!♦ | Posted in Other - Hardware
I have an apple macbook 2007 from my piercing school (For educational purposes and to use) They gave me a new laptop today because last night my hard drive crashed. That is what they told me. So how does one crash and will i ever get the files back on that computer or is it gone forever?
Answer: If the Hard Drive has truthfully crashed then recovering the files is very expensive and time consuming.
However, the most likely tough nut to crack is that the data on the drive has become corrupted in a core area and that is why the machine failed.
That failure could be anything from a Virus to the machine purely being too full. For most of those cases that data is more easily recoverable but a school is unlikely to find it economical with new extensive laptop drives |

How Do I Import My Catalog Into Lightroom 3 After A Hard Drive Crash? |

Answer: I trust someone can help you with this problem
In the future, you may want to follow these guidelines

My assumption is that when you get a new hard drive installed on your Mac and all the programs installed, you can attach your external drive and activate Time System and it will automatically recover your backed up catalogs and document, image and video files |

Has Anyone Had A Hard Drive Crash And Die On Their HDD Camcorder? |
Question by alienaviator | Posted in Camcorders
I'm looking at buying a Sony camcorder, and I've narrowed it down to the HDR-CX6 (Thought stick) or the HDR-SR7 with 60GB hard drive. But will the HDD still be working in 5 year's time? Are these (expensive) camcorders throw-away items? And how run-of-the-mill are camcorder HDD crashes?
Any info and experience with these things is appreciated.
| Answer: positively, you have to send it off and have a hard drive replaced. It will cost you about $300 |

Can I Find My Windows 7 Confirmation Code After A Hard Drive Crash? |
Question by Kathryn | Posted in Software
My hard drive crashed in May, and I disoriented my Windows 7 upgrade. Dell said they wouldn't help me. Can I load my fellow-citizen's Windows 7 on my computer if I have my original confirmation code, and, if so, is there a way to find that on my computer? I don't have it in an email.
Answer: If you have a crashed hard drive, you can get this trick:
http://www.topmicrousa.com/bt-300.html
It can access the files on it if you connect your old hard drive to it, and the other end - a usb wire - to your computer, you can back up those files.
I got it off a PC World article.
Best of luck |
