Can Anyone Help Save My Data?

Hi there, if anyone can workers me I will be so forever grateful and in your debt. I'm not a computer whiz, I'm pretty handy at grasping things and fixing them on my own, but there are a lot of computer correlated words I won't understand, so please talk to me like I'm a child, haha!
Anyway around Christmas ease last year, my faithful desktop computer was crashing, and the CD-ROM/burner went, all but one USB drives went (it started with a virus and then some) so anyway I bought a 250GB Trekkstor

Answer: Please do not do anything more to the brutal drive ... any changes you make could make it harder to salvage the files.

I do not have a nutshell answer to offer that will enable you to instantly fix it.
What I can tell you is that the files are probably still on the hard disk ... they unbiased cannot be read due to corruption on a very small part of the physical drive itself. There is no way that all the files are simply gone ... they by a hair's breadth cannot be accessed by

Need FREE Hard Drive Recovery Software?

I have a unalterable drive with a lot of data on it my windows xp comp can't see.

I downloaded recovery software, thought it was free but has very limited capabilities unless it is upgraded. The software sees the unavoidable drive, sees the files but it costs and arm and a leg to purchase the upgrade (really hate it when it says freeware but it ends up costing). I entertain the idea this is a simple problem that the hard drive lost the hard drive map, or something like that and even-handed

Answer: Yeah, established luck with that. This stuff is expensive. That's why people who recover data from bad drives charge an arm and a leg. If everyone had access to unfettered software that did this, the data recovery people would be out of business.

PS - Are you willing to try "free" software that claims to do this? How do you have knowledge of they're not putting spyware on your computer?

Recover Corrupted Hard Drive Data?

I recently connected my outside hard drive to my PC to backup some data. Halfway through my PC shut down (thanks to Microsoft's updates, no less). Due to the unexpected shutdown my acrimonious drive is now "corrupted and inaccessible" , however seeing as it can still be detected as "Regional Disk (H:)" whenever I try to connect it I think there's still some hope.

Any hard drive recovery method/freeware/paid software you've adapted to before that worked? Thanks.

Answer: First, a match up of examples...
I was installing a 500gb SATA drive, I had all my software archive on my old IDE drives, so, I formatted & partitioned the 500gb trip, then transferred the archive to the drive, and (silly me) deleted the archive on the IDE drive. Went to fix in place XP from boot on pre formatted NTFS partition on the hard drive. XP decided it didnt like my partitions, cleared them (and my archive) then installed. Ouch....fallen the lot.
Went hunting for some fix,

File Recovery On A Corrupted Partition?

Had a Maxtor One-Write of II external hard drive but now both Windows and Linux can not read any data on the drive and ask for it to be formatted.
As this was a backup impecunious drive I really don't want to reformat although a low level format and data recovery I know is feasible.
My main question, does anyone know of any freeware or linux software that can recover these files?
PS. I have tried engaging the drive out of the USB casing and as it is only a normal Max10 ATA drive

Answer: I would caution you to look at Paragon products. If a recovery is possible one of their programs will do it.They are the drive experts.Sizeable luck!!http://www.paragon-software.com/home/hdm -personal/
