Why Won't My Data Recover? |

I have an outside hard drive with bunch of videos in avi format. They range from 4-17 GB. I accidentally deleted them tonight. Immediately afterward, I stopped chirography anything to the drive. Since I've tried a variety of data recovery tools (Recuva, Restoration, Handy Recovery, Free Undelete, etc). All of them find the avi files, but they only catalogue ~5 KB and won't recover.

| Answer: adequate luck !! , why didn't you back up your files first ? , u may be able to use a software recovery disk , but i would be passive to bet that the mp3's are gone |

i've got a big puzzle. I encrypted some of my files with Acer Edatasecurity and now I can't remember the password. There is no software to break it.
So I have to try to recover the files from another computer where they were stored quite a long time ago.

Answer: Did you try with O&O Unerase? i be sure it lets you search for specific file extensions and such and it permits the searching of multiple partitions.

Are My Documents Gone After Running What Was Supposed To Be The Non Destructive HP Recovery? |

I was gettign a end: c000021a BSOD on booting my HP pavilian computer. Tried fixes I could find on the net and none seemed to work. I solid to try the HP Recovery (this is kept on a partition, HP no longer supplies disks) it said it is supposed to up-anchor user data intact, I figured it was like a over top XP install. Well it didn't fix the proplem and now when I look at the effort (I'm booting Bart PE) I don't see my user folder in documents and settings. HP_Administrator folder is gone, there
Answer: It should have put your files on a esoteric partition then copied them back into the file system when it finished. But it sounds like it didn't give the coup de gr properly. So, for data recovery:

Hard Disk Partitions Disappeared.What To Do ? |

1)Two alcoholic disk,One 40gb and one 160gb.
2)160 gb divided into 5 partitions.
3)Installed Linux and Windows 7 in two partitions.
4)When i boot in either OS the other three partitions are missing.
5)There are files in that 3 partitions.
6)I went to disk administration.There all partitions were displayed.But it showed (Free Space) in those 3 partitions.But there is data in it.
7)Then I used data recovery tool and searched the 160gb broke disk.I found my
Answer: Boot with the Windows 7 disc in the motivate
It may find it and repair the boot sector
Open BIOS (press F2 or Del or other key- look on the home screen)
Go to Boot Priority and make CD ROM first in boot order
Save settings and take it on the lam
When you see "Press any key to boot from CD ROM" - press a key
Let the windows 7 disc stuff and choose Repair My Computer
