In Windows XP, How Do You Restore A File To Its Previous Versions? |
Im disquieting to restore a .sai file i accidentally renamed. I followed website instructions and right clicked on file, and then properties, but i dont see the "foregoing versions" tab. Where is it? Or is there a program or software that restores files to previous versions for you?
| Answer: There are a few possibilities: The file has not been changed. Sometime versions are only available for files that have been modified. A restore point or backup has not been made since the file was changed. System charge might not be turned on for the drive those files are stored on. If system protection is not turned on, Windows can't initiate previous versions. (To check the system protection settings go to Control Panel\System and Gage\System\System |
@ If you had win restore points enabled on that systematic drive, I suggest you check this in script
@ @ @ In fact, if system restore has been enabled it restores any file type. I was using it at work for Excel.
To restore everything, single out the catchall top box to select every file on your drive, then hit restore; or, select individual files or folders. Another way to restore information is through a CrashPlan Central Web restore.
