My D:(recovery Sytem) Is Running On The FAT32 File System, Is My Computer Safe With It?

I ran a microsoft investigate and it said that fat32 isnt as safe should be replaced with ntfs, I tried changing it over but it would not let me, Would it be ok to be off the fat32 in place?

Answer: Yes..Check out it in place.

The FAT32 file system is safe, and is the standard file system in use. DO NOT CONVERT your D drive to NTSF as the D recovery giving is to be used only for the restoring of your computer to factory new setting. It was designed by the computer manufacture to use this file system.

The NTSF file system is old by XP and VISTA because it can handle larger file sizes, and is more efficient at storing data not because it is safer.

When Formatting Disk Drive, Which Option To Chose Under File System?

I have my dynamically drive partitioned under drive c, and drive d. Drive c is my os, and drive d was used for xp recovery. I have upgraded to vista os, and I stand in want to use drive d for files backup instead of xp recovery. I was told that I could format drive d for this, I no more than need to know what option to chose under File System? FAT32 or NTFS? and also, what do they stand for?

Answer: For XP and later you should always select NTFS (which tolerant of to stand for NT file system but now it is not an acronym). FAT used to stand for File Access Table but also, not more.

NTFS is a more strong and secure file system so you want to choose that. XP can handle file/disk errors much better and you can imprison files if you need to.
