How Can I Recover My Files When I Have A Damaged FAT? |

One of my granite-like disk partitions got damaged. I think its propably the FAT thats gone belief it shows the drive but says 0 capacity and windows cant format it says some program has blocked it. My topic is how can I get back my files if i havent backed up the FAT. I got 3 file recovery software but none of it can retrieve my files. Thank you.
| Answer: if this is a win 98 system . boot up in dos or with a boot disk get to the dos ready type get to the root directory and type Fdisk/MBR , might work not guarenteed . depends on mutilation .Oops a little more info. sorry had to go. but anyway after enter this command you will not see anysignificant liveliness . just reboot again...hopefully fdisk will have fixed the problem and you wont have to pester about file recovery. |

What Is The Difference Between FAT And NTFS? |

I have a assumption about file recovery, and while having the defense a panel asked us about FAT and NTFS. Whether our software is capable of recovering file from NTFS or FAT? What is verbatim the difference? My hard disk is in NTFS, and i noticed flash drives got FAT.. Can someone give me a together that I can refer to? (except wikipedia.org)

My 2nd Hard Drive Was Formated Ntfs I Need The Data Now It Reads As A Fat File System? |

I move the hd in the computer to cope room for a couple new drives so i put it on the 2nd ide as master. I am a pc tech so a simple data recovery anwser wont business here sure I could use one but thats not the way to go.
The drive was partitioned into two drives and formatted ntfs. The information was on the two ntfs partitions. Now the drive reads as one fat partition. The two partitions just disappeared.
Answer: Could you rephrase the subject so it makes more sense....
The Data is on a Fat32 File system and you want to Put it on NTFS? The Other way around? |
