Destroying Data On Broken Hard Drive? |

A few weeks ago, I bought a new Western Digital extraneous hard drive at Best Buy. It recently quit working all the symptoms point to that its dead for good. (with the possible exception of professional data recovery) Fortunately I have everything that is important to me backed up. Unmistakably, since I spent over $100 to buy it just a few weeks ago, I'm not happy about the situation and intend to take it back to get an exchange. Unfortunately, the bad pressurize holds important confidential information

Can I Swap Circuit Boards With 2 Hard Drives? |

My crucial hard drive has some kind of a short that prevents it from loading windows (it is recognized by BIOS, however, but it keeps crashing only just before it loads XP and continues doing that in a loop). I can't afford a Data Recovery service. My question is...if I find a constrain identical to my faulty drive (brand, size & model number), can I exchange the circumference board from the good one to my faulty one to get it to work? At this point, I can't even connect it as a slave to another
Answer: As joatman says, it should be doable, but there might be bantam revisions to the board. You'll most likely need a small Torx screwdriver to swap the boards. I got this one at Adroit in Depot and was able to repair a broken pin on a 200 GB hard drive. Not bad for $6.

my enquiry is if i could take my old dell dimension 3000 and make it work like new without the data recovery thing. can i alteration it by like getting a new hard drive of by exchanging something inside. i basically thirst to "renew" my computer.
| Answer: Most computers can be returned to novel performance simply by cutting all the crap that builds up on them and runs in the background. runs msconfig and corroboration your start up items. Turn off those that aren't needed ( for most people this will mean reasonable about all of them, you don't need up-daters, do it manually, ten of them running could take up half your CPU). You may have too google each one if you are unsure. Boot in to safely mode and run your virus scans, ad-aware, Spybot-search |

I run Vista Commerce 32bit with 4gigs of ram in my laptop.
Im a heavy multi tasker so i run a lot of programs the same time,
-firefox with 10-20 tabs with a lot of hint websites
-google chrome with 8-12 tabs with a lot of flash websites
-4 instances of explorer windows
-4 instances of notepad
-flashget
-Limewire 5 pro
-yahoo nuncio 10
-windows live messenger
-dap
-win defender
-norton 360 v2

Answer: You are dishonest, it is not counter intuitive.
Many applications and data are idle most of the times. That is why they are moved to pagefile - to release up memory for current applications and reduce application execution time.
The can of worms in your case is not only amount of memory each app uses. Limeware might require lots of disk access, and that slows down access to pagefile. On PC, I would exhort setting Limewire download directory to physically separate HDD. Overall, laptop |
