I have movies and music that I have downloaded on my outer hard drive. It's stopped working and now I need to have a data recovery service performed on it. Will they communication me? Will they know? Can they see files that have been on my PC first (i.e. as I am downloading movies and music to my PC's hard drive first, then transfering to the xternal determination)?

So recently, my solid drive failed me. I was told to go to a data recovery specialist. People told me I should go to professionals, however, I'm afraid of them reporting me to the sway about things on my computer. I wouldn't be really worried, but the government is stepping up on pirating and attributes now.
I don't want to lose the stuff I have on my hard drive because I have a project I've been working on for 2 months.

Is It Possible For A Data Recovery Specialist To Retrieve Files From A Very Old Crashed Computer?

I have this computer that's a windows 97 and it crashed in '03 or '04. We've kept it around hoping to have the banknotes to have the files retrieved from it, but it's taken a long time and it's collecting dust in a back elbow-room. It seems it's been so long I was wondering if it's even possible for a data recovery specialist to even retrieve the files from a computer that's so old and will literally not even turn on. One deduce I want the files pulled off it so bad is because I have written novels

What do they do conflicting that us as home users cannot? Different software or hardware or what?

Answer: They have "undefiled rooms" where they can remove the plate from inside the case of the hard herd. They then use a special device to read off the plate directly and cover the data.

External Hard Drive Data Recovery?

my gf dropped her outside hard drive (wd passport 250gb) only like from half a foot off the teach and it won't access when plugged into the computer now..It turns on, has the spinning noise of trying to access the data but clicks and won't show up on the My Computer allot of the computer...we've had a data recovery specialist look at it, run a deep recovery and couldn't get it...are there any other steps? Can we send it away etc?

Answer: If the goad is making a noise then it is the sound of either read - write head or the platters, so you should get it repaired first else if you run your ram then it will damage your head or the platters and no one will recover your data.
