My foreign drive decided to go bad today. unfortunately it does have a ton of data on it as i was just beginning to set up a new backup usage.
I need a good data recovery tool. It appears that the Master File table on the disk is trashed. It can be skim find which i proved with a demo of a VERY expensive tool. How To Get Data From An Old NTFS Hard Drive On FAT System?

My old thorny drive from another pc doesn't boot up at all, the windows is really messed and old, so I was trying to get back data from it by connecting it to my newer pc, as a 'slave drive' I've been told (I am using a data recovery tool). But when my old firm drive is connected the new pc won't even boot up. It says to press TAB for something, and DEL for windows boot small screen, but when I press DEL nothing happens. Is there ANY way to connect this hard drive and get data off it?

Answer: Sounds like you haven't got the Ace-Slave jumpers set correctly. There's usually a little diagram on the drive characterization. Original drive = master and old drive = slave. If you have two cables/ide channels then the amiable way is to disconnect the CD/DVD drive and plug the old drive in instead.

Does Anyone Know Where I Can Get Completely FREE Data Recovery Software?

I am so qualmish of this I don't know what to do. My computer decided to reinstall windows and "erased" my files from my computer. After work Dell, I was directed to some "free" data recovery software and have spent the better part of today continual them only to find out that I need to purchase the software in order to get my files back. I DO NOT have $100. Does anyone positive where I can get completely FREE data recovery software? Just list the name not the link. Today I

Answer: If you forgotten your data completely (deleted data from Hard Drive) you are not going to recover it, unless you pay $100 or so for the Software.

If the data puzzled is important, I would buy the software. =]
