I Need Help With Secure Data Deletion And Data Recovery?

Please broadcast me of the best thing to do to delete a data from my hard disk so that no one would ever be able to retrieve it. I would highly appreciate a way whereby which NO ONE can retrieve it but I STILL CAN. Well, if I can't, no incorrigible. I just want NO ONE ELSE to retrieve the deleted data.

Answer: To securely nullify data you need to do more than format. DBAN will nuke a whole drive, Eraser 5.3 can wipe restricted characteristic of files or free space. Those are unrecoverable except for a handful of world-class experts. The only unavoidable way is to physically destroy the drive. If you securely wipe some files but not the whole drive, there are other things you poverty to be aware of -- temp files, swap space, etc.

Hard Disk Problems?

I've bought a 30GB Seagate exotic hard disk 6mth ago. Recently, I've accidentally tripped over the USB cable that attached from my hard disk to my laptop and the cable got self-sustained from it while my laptop were actually playing some songs from the hard disk. Later when I try to plug back the cable, it couldn't find any files in it. I’ve tried every method, but still cease operations. I can’t even format it. In the properties of My Computer, says that the file system of this drive is RAW.

Answer: Hi,

Direct of sending your HD to a data recovery company -which is not a cheap undertaking in anyway- I advise you to try "GetDataBack for NTFS" of which a burr under the saddle version is available as a free download. The trial version will attempt to return to health your files but will stop at the point where you restore them back. This is useful to check if it will help you in your enigma before investing 69 dollars in buying it. This link may be useful:
